Two Romantic paintings by the artist Caspar David Friedrich, one of the protagonists of the romantic German art period are uncovered by Exhibitionistas' host, contemporary art curator and writer Joana P. R. Neves.

From reproductions on a book, to discovering how Frierich never sett foot in one of the landscapes he depicted, this is also an exploration of what reproductions and real experiences of art can tell each other. Both are valid, and some second-hand experiences can even create great art, and big emotions.

Friedrich was a unique artist. Much has been said about movements and theories of the time, but what intimate experience do two of his most fascinating paintings convey, The Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog, 1818, and The Sea of Ice, 1823-24?
